Ambassador Spotlight

Lisa Youngkin Rex

Hi Everyone,

I am a LINC Ambassador and a member of the Ambassador Council. I coordinate the LINC Ladies Night Out. We have been holding events every other month and it has been a pleasure to meet so many of you. I hope to see you at our next gathering on July 18th (location TBD).

A little about me. I grew up just north of here but when you grow up just north of here it meant commuting to the Lehigh Valley for jobs, shopping, and many services. I moved to Allentown in 1986 and then to College Hill in Easton in 2006. I have experienced Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton in their best times, their decline and then rebirth into something new and different. It is remarkable to me how much each city has changed for the better over the years. Who would have thought that the area referred to in Billy Joel’s song “Allentown” would become a destination with so many wonderful offerings? A destination that has embraced its history and incorporated it into things like the Iron Pigs and Blast Furnace. I sometimes have to push myself to leave Easton to enjoy the rest of what the Valley has to offer, and the Valley has a lot to offer – farmer’s markets, higher education, high quality healthcare, mountains, rivers, bike trails and so much more. Whatever you are looking for it is here or not too far away – New York City, Philadelphia, mountains, beaches, airports, sports teams, and the list goes on.

I am enjoying rediscovering the Valley through newcomers’ eyes. It is such a pleasure to see people excited about being here and jumping in to be part of the fabric of our communities.

So welcome and thank you!
