Employer Spotlight
LINC envisions a Lehigh Valley where everyone feels welcome, gets rooted, and thrives. Our esteemed DEI Advisory Council helps us work to achieve this vision in alignment and collaboration with local stakeholders.
Please join us in welcoming Marci to LINC’s DEI Council.
Read below to learn more on Marci’s journey to DEI and her hopes for her time serving on LINC’s DEI Council:
Why did you want to serve on the DEI Council?
I love the work that LINC is doing in the DEI space. This is an opportunity for me to be surrounded by other local DEI practitioners so that I can learn from them as well as share my thoughts and ideas to help impact our LV community.
Why is DEI important to you?
DEI is important to me because if I am not centering DEI in all I do, I am leaving people out. If I don’t center DEI in all I do, I am limiting access and opportunity to my community. If DEI isn’t my top priority I am not truly living my personal or organizational values.
What do you hope to bring to the DEI Council and the LINC Community as a council member?
I’m hoping to bring many things to the council, especially my ability to connect people- by lifting up names in spaces of opportunity. There are so many people in our community who are doing big things and who are so knowledgeable from both a content and context perspective, but who haven’t been lifted up in a way that allows them to share their brilliance.
What has been your proudest moment working in DEI?
My proudest moment was launching our Fund for Racial Justice and equity which looks to invest in Black and Brown leaders.
What is one piece of advice you have for leaders of companies just getting started on their DEI journey?
Be clear on what DEI means for your specific organization and set realistic and measurable goals around your DEI strategy.
What brought you to the Lehigh Valley?
I was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, specifically in Allentown.
Join our exceptional community of employers committed to fostering welcoming and inclusive workplaces.
